Took a 5-day trip to Tulum with a group of 5 legendary chicks! Highly recommend as a luxurious yet affordable getaway from the States.

Logistics: Flew in Friday morning 8am Chicago directly to Cancun (cheap flights from Chicago on United and American, like under $250 cheap). Rented a car (felt totally safe driving here but if you’re in a rental car you have to follow the speed limit – rental cars are targeted for getting pulled over if breaking any rule slightly). 1.5 hours (2 in traffic) to get to our airbnb in Tulum.

Where We Stayed: Casa Azul – found it through Airbnb and it’s a brand new hotel! Really nice although no hot water lol, even the hostel (Lum) I stayed in on the last night had hot water though so this might just be because it was a new hotel and they were still working on things.

This hotel is between the beach and the town. About a 10 min bike ride to town and a 20-25 min one to the beach. This is a LOT cheaper than being on the beach but nicer than some places in town… but I could see myself enjoying staying in any parts of town. I’d like to go back with Chris and ball out in one of the nice resorts on the beach for a weekend.

Eats: I posted on the Lil Bucks website my fave healthy eats in Tulum!

Cenotes: We did Grand Cenote (most popular big watering hole), more like a cool natural pool and there’s grass you can lay out on and relax. Then we did Los Monos where we did a guided tour for 600 pesos and literally snorkeled and swam our way through a dark cave (with lifejackets). It was epic and I highly recommend.
